EU requires uniform charging port for all phones

Brussels: The European Union has agreed to use the same charging port for all phones and tablets.

According to a foreign news agency, the European Union has announced that under the new agreement, all companies will be required to install a USB-C charging port on their small electronic devices by fall 2024. However , the laptop will have to use the input after some time.

Following the EU decision, Apple will have to redesign its iPhone and stop using the Lightning cable, which has been used for 10 years. Most Android phones use a USB-C port for charging.
According to the European Union, the use of multiple charging ports by different companies has led to increased e-waste and consumer confusion.

But many companies, including Apple, have said that different types of charging port space on their devices lead to better performance.

Apple’s resistance was weak, however, and a recent Bloomberg report indicated that the company was working on an iPhone with a USB-C port.

Apple has replaced the Lightning USB-C cable charging port for its iPads and laptops.

According to some reports, Apple intends to remove the charging socket completely and encourages users to charge the device via wireless charging.

According to the decision, the new law will not apply to devices that expire before fall 2024.
